Privacy Policy for DOCitUP

ROM Reviewer Tools ("we", "us", or "our") built the DOCitUP app ("the App") as a free/commercial application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the App.

Information We Collect

1. Analytics Data (Firebase Analytics)

We collect anonymous usage data to improve the App experience, including:

• Screen views — which screens you navigate to and how long you spend on each screen.
• Feature usage — which tools you use (e.g., annotation type such as "pen", "highlighter"), file open events, and pages viewed.
• File names — the names of PDF files you open (used solely for aggregated usage analytics).
• Device information — device model, operating system version, app version, and language settings (collected automatically by Firebase Analytics).

This data is collected through Google Firebase Analytics and is processed in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

2. Crash Reports (Firebase Crashlytics)

We collect crash logs and diagnostic data to identify and fix bugs. This may include:

• Device state at time of crash (memory usage, OS version, device model).
• Stack traces and error logs.
• App version and build number.

Crash data does not contain personal information and is processed by Google Firebase Crashlytics.

3. Push Notification Tokens (Firebase Cloud Messaging)

If you grant notification permission, we receive a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device token. This token is used solely to deliver push notifications about app updates or relevant information. We do not link this token to any personal identity.

4. Locally Stored Data

The App stores the following data locally on your device using Android DataStore:

• Recent files list — file paths of recently opened PDFs for quick access.
• Page position — the last viewed page of each document for restore on reopen.

This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or physical address.
• We do not access your contacts, camera, location, or microphone.
• We do not read or transmit the contents of your PDF documents. All document processing happens entirely on your device.
• We do not require account creation or login.
• We do not serve advertisements or share data with ad networks.

How We Use Information

We use the collected information to:

• Improve app performance and stability.
• Understand which features are most used to guide development priorities.
• Send relevant push notifications (only with your permission).
• Diagnose and fix crashes and bugs.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your information to third parties. Analytics and crash data is processed by Google Firebase services under their respective privacy policies:

Data Retention

• Analytics data is retained according to Google Firebase's default retention policies (typically 14 months).
• Crash reports are retained for 90 days in Firebase Crashlytics.
• Local data (recent files, page positions) persists on your device until you clear the app data or uninstall the App.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

• Opt out of analytics: You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of interest-based ads through your device's privacy settings.
• Disable notifications: You can revoke notification permission at any time through your device's app settings.
• Clear local data: You can clear all locally stored data by clearing the App's data or cache in your device settings.

Security

We value your trust and strive to use commercially reasonable means to protect your information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted within the App or on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
